Keynote speaker Jon Sommer, President of the Colorado Mycological Society, adds a touch of mycological intrigue to the evening, marking the beginning of the festival with a perfect blend of flavor and knowledge.
The keynote talk, “The wonderful wild world of mushrooms (and the wood wide web)”, will look at the fascinating diversity of the fungal kingdom. You’ll discover what fungi are, their roles in the ecosystem and their myriad diversity of forms. You’ll then take a dive into what you need to know to reliably identify wild mushrooms.
